Fellow members are those members of the Academy who:

(i) are graduates of an approved program for the training of anesthesiologists assistants;

(ii) are currently licensed, certified or otherwise sanctioned to practice as an anesthesiologists' assistant

(iii) demonstrate the ideals and principles for which the Academy stands.Fellow members of the Academy shall have the right to vote in all elections (general and special), hold office positions, and enjoy all benefits.

Fellow Membership Fee: $495 per year

First-Year Fellow discount – The annual dues for graduating SAAs are $99 for the calendar year following their graduation. Additionally, graduates receive complimentary membership for the remainder of their graduation year.

Dues and contributions to AAAA are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, they may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to limitations imposed as a result of association lobbying activities. It is estimated that the portion of your current years dues are allocated to lobbying activities, and thus nondeductible, is 30%.

Student members are those members of the Academy who are currently enrolled in an approved program for the training of anesthesiologist assistants.

Student members may:

(i) hold student office positions; (ii) vote in student elections; and (iii) enjoy all rights and privileges of membership in the Academy; provided, however, that student members may not hold general office positions, or vote except as set forth above. Student members evolve to Fellow member status upon graduation from an approved program for the training of anesthesiologist assistants and retain the status of a Fellow member without additional application or payment of dues until December 31 in the year of the students' graduation, or the student fails to become licensed, certified or otherwise sanctioned to practice as a CAA.

Student Membership Fee: $200 one time fee

Emeritus members are those members of the Academy who have rendered outstanding service to the Academy and are nominated to Emeritus membership by the Membership Committee and elected by the Board of Directors.Emeritus members are entitled to all rights and privileges of Fellow members, are not required to pay dues, fines or assessments, and are elected to the Academy for life.

No Fee for Emeritus Members

Physician affiliate members are allopathic and osteopathic physicians licensed to practice in the United States of America who support the ideals and principles for which the Academy stands. They shall enjoy all benefits, which shall accrue to the Academy, but are not entitled to vote or may not hold any office position.

Physician Affiliate Membership Fee: $150 per year

Affiliate members are any anesthesia adjacent profession including but not limited to Respiratory Therapists, Anesthesia Technicians, Pre-AA students in a four-year university, and international Anesthesiologist Assistant equivalents. This membership category cannot vote or hold office positions within AAAA but are entitled to affiliate member benefits.

Affiliate Membership Fee: $25 per year
